ABOUT ELENA

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place.

I grew up in Athens, Greece — a city that will always feel like home no matter where life takes me. Over the years I’ve lived in Cyprus and Australia, before eventually settling in London.
Photography was never part of the plan, if I’m honest. I studied Business Administration with a focus in CIS and spent about a decade working in IT. Then life took a turn I didn’t see coming.
It started when I was pregnant with my first child. My partner bought a DSLR camera but neither of us really knew what to do with it, so I signed up for a photography course to figure it out. What started as “someone has to learn this” quickly became something I couldn’t put down. The more I learned, the more I wanted to pick up the camera.
My children became my first subjects — and honestly, my greatest teachers. Photographing them showed me that the most meaningful images aren’t usually the posed ones. It’s the laugh from across the room, the cuddle on the sofa, a cheeky grin, or the way a little one looks up at their parent. Those are the moments families actually want to remember.
That’s still at the heart of everything I do. I love making images that feel relaxed, real, and full of personality. My approach is pretty straightforward — I want people to feel at ease, so the genuine stuff has room to happen on its own.
These days I specialise in family photography ( I have also started capturing interiors, as spaces are another passion of mine) across London. I shoot in family homes, at some of London’s gorgeous outdoor spots, and at the milestones worth documenting. Whatever the setting, what I’m always after is the same thing: photographs that actually look and feel like you.
