CHRISTENING PHOTOGRAPHY

ABOUT

Christening photography is all about preserving the quiet beauty and significance of such an important day in your child’s life. Surrounded by family, friends, and faith, it’s a moment filled with meaning, one you’ll want to remember and share with your little one as they grow older. From the gentle blessing to the proud smiles and tender glances, every part of the day tells a story.
As both a photographer and mum, I truly understand how emotional and meaningful these moments are. I also know how important it is to capture them with sensitivity and respect. During the ceremony, I work discreetly, blending in so I don’t disrupt the service or distract your guests. My focus is on observing quietly and documenting what naturally unfolds; the joy, the reverence, the connections between loved ones.
My aim is always to provide you with a beautiful collection of images that reflect not only the event itself, but the warmth and emotion that filled it. These photographs are more than just keepsakes. They become part of your family’s story, a way to remember and honour a meaningful chapter in your lives.

“Thank you for being part of our special day—we’d love to have you back for another occasion (no more kids :-)). We’re always so happy with your work!”

WHAT TO EXPECT

I photograph christenings and first communions across London, but I’m always happy to travel if your ceremony is a bit further away. I usually arrive at the church around half an hour before the ceremony. This gives me time to photograph the space, the details, and any decorations before things begin. When you arrive, I’ll ask you to unpack your child’s christening outfit and their crucifix. It’s the perfect moment to capture those little details before everything starts.
From there, I photograph the day gently and respectfully, without getting in the way. There’s no need to stop and pose (unless you want to), or to think about the camera at all. You can simply enjoy the day, while I capture everything as it naturally unfolds.

This includes:

  • Family and guests arriving at the church
  • Christening decorations
  • The ceremony and key moments
  • Natural interactions between family and friends
  • Candid moments throughout the ceremony
  • Moments just after the ceremony, inside and outside the church
  • If you’re planning to continue the celebration afterwards — whether that’s lunch, dinner, drinks, or a gathering at home or a venue — I’d be very happy to follow along and capture more moments there too.

FAQ

01.

How long do you stay for?

It depends on your day. I can cover just the ceremony, just the reception, or both. Have a look at the pricing page and get in touch if you’d like something tailored.

02.

Do you stay for the reception as well?

Only if you’d like me to. The reception is often where the most natural and relaxed moments happen, so it’s well worth including. We can discuss timings when you get in touch.

03.

Will you get in the way during the ceremony?

Not at all. I work quietly and respectfully throughout, keeping my distance during the ceremony itself and never interrupting the moment. You won’t notice I’m there — but the photos will show everything that mattered.

04.

What if the church has restrictions on photography?

It’s worth checking with your church in advance. Most are fine with a photographer moving around quietly, but some churches have specific rules like the use of flash which it could be prohibited. We can still take photos though, so don’t worry about it.
