SPECIAL OCCASIONS PHOTOGRAPHY

(birthdays, anniversaries, events and more)

ABOUT

Birthdays, anniversaries, events (or just a good excuse to get everyone together) across Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Richmond, Putney and beyond, I’m there to capture it all as it really happens. The big laughs, the quiet chats, the hugs that go on a bit longer than expected, and all those little moments you don’t notice until you see them in photos later.

I tend to keep things pretty low-key. I’ll wander around, blend in and photograph things as they unfold so nobody feels like they’re on a shoot. The goal is simple: you enjoy your day properly, I quietly take care of the rest. I love the real stuff, someone cracking a joke that gets the whole table going, that split-second smile, or the way people light up when they see each other. Nothing staged, nothing forced, just people being themselves.By the end of it, you’ll have a set of photos that tells the whole story of the day, the energy, the emotion, and even the little details like the decorations you spent ages picking out, or the moments you didn’t even realise were happening. Mostly though, I just want you to relax, be present, and enjoy it all. I’ll be the one quietly chasing the memories so you don’t have to think about a thing. 01.

Is hiring a professional photographer for my birthday worth the cost?

Short answer — yes, if your memories matter to you.
Events go by so quickly. You’re busy hosting, talking, enjoying yourself… you don’t actually see everything happening. A professional captures those moments for you — the ones you missed and the ones you didn’t even realise were happening.
Phone photos are great, but they’re not the same. Lighting, timing, composition… those things really do make a difference when you look back later.

02.

What’s the difference between an amateur and a professional event photographer?

It’s not just about having a good camera. A professional knows how to handle tricky lighting, fast-moving moments, and unpredictable situations — all without making a fuss. They also know how to anticipate moments before they happen, which is a big part of event photography. Reliability is a big one too. Turning up on time, backing up photos, delivering on schedule — that’s what you’re really paying for, not just the photos themselves.

03.

Can you cover both the setup and the party itself?

Yes, if you’d like. We can add some extra time so I can arrive early to capture the details — the decorations, the table, the quiet before everyone gets there — which often make for really lovely photos alongside the main event.

04.

Will you pose people for group shots?

I can do a few relaxed group shots if you want them, but mostly I prefer to let people enjoy themselves and catch the real moments as they happen. The candid ones are always the ones people love most.

05.

What size events do you cover? Do you cover corporate events?

From intimate gatherings at home to larger parties, celebrations and yes, I corporate events too.. If you’re not sure whether your event fits, just ask.

06.

Can we use the photos for marketing and social media?

Yes. Usage rights are included — your photos are yours to use for your business however you need. We can confirm the specifics when we speak

07.

Can you provide photos quickly after the event?

If you need images turned around faster than usual — for a press release or social media, for example — just let me know in advance and I’ll do my best to accommodate that.

08.

What should I look for when hiring an event photographer?

The first thing I’d say is look at their photos properly. Not just one or two highlights — go through full galleries of photos if you can. You want to see consistency, not just a few lucky shots. Also, pay attention to how their photos feel. Do they capture real moments? Do people look relaxed? That’s usually a sign the photographer knows how to blend in and not make things awkward. And don’t underestimate personality. You’ll be spending hours with this person, so it helps if they feel approachable and easy to talk to.

09.

Can I request specific photos from my event photographer?

Of course you can — and you should if something is important to you. If there are key people, moments, or details you don’t want missed, just let your photographer know in advance. A simple list helps. That said, I always ask clients about important moments and details but I also tell them to trust the process a little too. Some of the best photos are the unplanned, natural ones.
